This Web3 Social Media App is about To Take Off!

What if you could get paid to express your thoughts? What if you could build an online character, tokenize your character, and earn fees without having to dump or rug your followers? What if you could own all your data, assets, etc., and get usable currency for your work instead of likes?What if you could access content for free without being bombarded with ads, bots, and noise?

This month, the new Web3 social media app, Focus.xyz, launched on the DeSo blockchain. After a few days of using the app, I’m excited enough to create a write-up on a truly innovative platform.

Focus.xyz solves many of X users' problems and challenges. Additionally, content creators can be compensated for their content instead of fattening Daddy Elon’s pockets. And because Focus.xyz is so new, virtually anyone can establish a following simply by creating engaging content.

What is Focus.xyz?

Imagine combining X, Pump.fun, OnlyFans, and Patron all on one platform. Imagine using this platform to make money without bleeding you dry with fees. The result is Focus.xyz.

How Focus.xyz is better than X:
X is the (current) leader when it comes to social content. But it has some glaring flaws. For example, I have to pay $11 per month to prove who I am. It’s theorized that a majority of users on X are bots. And, on X, anybody can be removed at any time. Even the president was kicked off of X for over two years. Everyone on X is in constant fear of receiving the dreaded message:

Ads are everywhere on X. What if you are new to content creation? How will you break through and get followers when competing against so many established accounts that have been around for years? Many people don’t like the political ties and potential conflicts of X’s owner, Elon Musk. We know from Facebook/Meta that it’s very easy for these centralized social media platforms to push an agenda.

Focus.xyz is the antithesis of X in that every user is verified via a unique wallet (reducing bot interference). There are no limits on how long a post can be, no ad congestion on your feed, and you can receive tips (get paid) in one click from other Focus.xyz users. There’s even a way to earn money by referring people to the platform.

Most importantly, you don’t have to worry about being banned for voicing your opinion or not driving within the lines. Because Focus.xyz, there's no corporation or big brother to be afraid of.

How Focus.xyz is better than Pump.fun:
Pump.fun is great if you are a) very lucky b) a greedy creator looking to rug people. By now, everyone knows that you must have inside information or amazing skills to succeed on Pump.fun.

Further, snipers and developers are compensated only by dumping on early investors. The entire schema promotes a toxic environment where everyone fights for attention rather than something of substance. Then, there are the fees that Pump.fun happily extracts from the crypto market for using their services.

On Focus.xyz, creators can make a token that isn’t subject to a bonding curve. Instead of insiders and snipers getting paid by dumping, they earn fees from trading their tokens. In other words, having a token with high volume equals higher compensation instead of ripping off your fans.

How Focus.xyz is better than OnlyFans and Patreon:
Focus.xyz allows creators to monetize their content in several ways. Additionally, it doesn’t take a percentage of the creator’s earnings. For example, a Focus.xyz creator can charge a monthly subscription, charge for specific content (I,e. a video, picture, or article), and can earn tips from any of their posts.

Another powerful feature is that Focus.xyz creator can charge for direct messages. Further, creators can token-gate their community. This is an alternative to creating a community on Discord or Telegram, which are both plagued with scammers and complicated verification processes.

The best part about Focus.xyz is that it’s not all about enriching the middleman. Web2 takes advantage of creators by exploiting their content and charging fees to the content makers (I,e. X, or a portion of their subscriptions such as OnlyFans). On the other hand, Focus.xyz is the exact opposite, which makes this platform so exciting.

How To Get Started on Focus.xyz:

1. You can click on Focus.xyz, and it will take you (via my referral link)

2. Create a DeSo wallet either by using your email address or by using a seedphrase login. Note: it is a web wallet and doesn’t require an extension or app. Alternatively, you can connect your Metamask wallet.

We are all super early to Focus.xyz. Launching at the beginning of the month, there are only 7,000 users today, but I expect that number to explode.
