It’s time we collectively agree that Twitter/X is a cesspool. Filled with negativity, fear, and misinformation, I have no interest in sifting through the garbage on my feed. I’m tired of getting notifications for airdrop scams and people who want to help spread my message by charging me money.

It’s bad enough that I feel my voice isn’t heard; I’d have to post like a crazy person to gain and keep a following. Even if I can amass a large group of followers, my account can be banned and censored at any time. That’s right. You can provide free content, pay for a check mark, and still get your account canceled because someone complains or Twitter/X doesn’t like what you post.

I’ve long wanted to rant about how sick I feel about Twitter/X. However, I never had an alternative to talk about. Luckily, that has all changed via decentralized blockchain and crypto. And I’m glad to be one of the first to use it. If you’ve read any of my recent articles, you’ll know that I’m writing a lot about Focus.xyz.

Why I Am Doing This

Investing in crypto right now is gross. The elite, scammers, grifters, and disingenuous assholes are overrunning it. Even politicians are getting in on rugpulls. Scam chains are profiting off extracting wealth from ordinary investors, and platforms support the grift.

In the last cycle, ordinary people had more than 20 minutes to sell their coins and retain some value. It seemed like projects were pushing limits and creating creative platforms with unique tokenomics instead of the devs and snipers just dumping on investors they are scamming.

It’s just not fun. And I‘m tired of wasting my time researching crappy projects with inflated valuations to enrich VCs and exchanges. How many ETH layer 2s need to exist? How many versions of ChatGPT are necessary? How many memecoins do we need to have?

In re an opportunity to create my own coin on Focus.xyz. It took me 5 minutes to create with default parameters. I named the token $DEBEVIC because it was the first thing that came to mind.

Then, I started running these contests and having fun with them. I think people who participated and interacted were having fun, too. Currently, 32% of the circulating supply of $DEBEVIC tokens are locked for 1 year and are earning a 25% yield. This means that many early adopters are committing to the project, and it’s not a money grab by early snipers.

Further, I get trading and subscription fees as the token’s creator. I will use 100% of these fees for the first 6 months to buy and burn $DEBEVIC tokens. I’ve burned around 3% of the circulating supply in less than three weeks.

If this project succeeds, after 6 months, I will earn some of the trading fees and start getting tokens on a vesting schedule that was the default setting of the Focus.xyz platform. If we fail, I lose thousands of dollars and have fun. If we succeed, I may make some money, but I’ll have fun and build a great community.

The Most Important Part

I don’t want anyone investing thousands of dollars in $DEBEVIC. I don’t want people to invest hundreds of dollars. I’d love it if we could grow an organic community and have everyone have meaningful ownership of the community for less than $50.
