I’m Giving Thousands of Dollars Away to Promote $DEBEVIC

I’m tired of all these devs, creators, and other money-grabbers taking mine and everyone else’s money. So, I’ve created a coin and giving out money to raise awareness!

Recently, I’ve been getting my ass kicked in the altcoin space. One loss that bothered me quite a bit is on the m3m3 memecoin. In December of last year, I invested $6K in this project and sold it two days ago for $500. Losses like this have gotten so bad in crypto that I’m tempted to hold BTC and ETH and call it quits on the rest of the market.

Let me tell you about m3m3. It was a project promoted by Meteora, a scam platform on Solana. Ben Chow, a scammer in charge of the m3m3 Coin, helped move millions of dollars out of investors' pockets with his evil schemes. I originally invested in m3m3 based on the project to portray an ethos where stakers would be rewarded for their good behavior.

They established a metric called a ‘Trust Score.’ If you staked your m3m3 tokens, your trust score would increase. If you sold, it would reduce your trust score. You would receive airdrops on new projects based on your trust score. Your trust score would increase if you staked or bought more of the airdropped tokens.

Instead of calling it a trust score, it should have been named your sucker score. By following these principles (which, unfortunately, I did), you were feeding money into dishonest creators, insiders, and the Meteora platform, who drained any liquidity from all the tokens.

In one month, I received airdrops for four tokens, $LGTB, $PUMPAI, $AIAI, and another piece of shit whose ticker I have forgotten. Idiotically, I bought $1500 more worth of $LGTB tokens and staked them. Then, when I got the PumpAI and AIAI, I staked them but didn’t buy more. When I sold all of these a couple of days ago, I got around $100.

So, altogether, I lost about $7K in a month based on this made-up narrative to scam me out of my money. And I trusted the project because it was involved with Meteora, whose platform I will never use again. I’ve lost plenty of money in crypto projects with unrealistic expectations, but none have been associated with a platform that claims to be credible.

I dodged the $TRUMP pump and dump, the $MELANIA scam, and the $LIBRA debacle, but it was mostly because I’d lost all my speculative money in m3m3. These money-extracting memecoins are all pretty disgusting to me, and I empathize with anyone who has gotten scammed by them.

How I’m Responding

Too many developers in the crypto space are shady, money-hungry scammers lacking a moral compass. And I’m tired of investing in projects where only insiders, influencers, and developers make all the profits. So, I’m done with memecoins on Solana.

If you wanted to buy drugs and knew that one drug dealer had killed off most of their clients by lacing their drugs with fentanyl, why would you choose to go to that dealer? That’s how I view memecoins on Solana.

At this point, the only person I can trust in crypto is myself. After spending years in this space, that’s a tough pill to swallow. We are competing with VCs, development teams, influencers, whales, and platforms, all looking to drain us. They are also disadvantaged because they are willing to lie, cheat, and steal.

A friend introduced me to a social media platform called Focus.xyz. Focus.xyz is everything we want Twitter/X to be. Focus.xyz doesn’t have ads, bots, or an agenda pushed by its owner. You can post messages as long as you want. And, instead of paying for a blue check mark, you can get paid in various ways- referrals, posting to earn, promoting to earn, subscriptions, gated content, and creator coins.

The option that intrigued me the most is creator coins. I’ve been a creator for a while now, and I’ve considered promoting my project. Still, several barriers stood in my way: I’m not tech-savvy, I don’t want to provide a lot of initial liquidity or bootstrap with investors, I don’t have experience marketing a token effectively, and I don’t want to tarnish my name by launching a half-ass project.

Focus.xyz solves these problems for me. One week ago, I wrote an article, "This Web3 Social Media App is About To Take Off!" I spent five minutes creating my creator coin, $DEBEVIC. At first, I wanted to test it out to see how easy it was to create this token. Then, I promoted $DEBEVIC on Focus.xyz, and people started buying it.

How I Got Sucked In

Initially, the market cap on $DEBEVIC was $0. But, Focus.xyz users can buy in micro amounts- $3, $5, $10. One investor bought $0.3 worth of $DEBEVIC. When I saw the first investor, who spent $4.94, sell it for $243 three days later, and the $DEBEVIC price didn’t collapse, I realized this could be a really good opportunity for investors. This user only risked $5 and did nearly a 50x in 2 days.

I considered it and decided to commit to growing the DEBEVIC token. So, I decided to spend money promoting it. First, I offered to burn $5 of other creators’ tokens if they purchased $5 or more in DEBEVIC.

Then, before I knew it, I began running contests. It reminded me of the fun times I used to have in my Drip group by creating contests and rewarding my team members. I’ve run contests nearly every day and given away hundreds of dollars.

The best part is that the contests aren’t limited to $DEBEVIC holders. I’m giving away money to people who interact with my posts, participate in experiments, and enter contests.

A week into it, $DEBEVIC has 35 holders and a $20,574 market cap. I’ve amassed 93 followers on Focus.xyz and even collaborated with one of the first NFT projects on the DeSo blockchain (where Focus.xyz resides). It’s been so much fun and a way to flex my creativity that I’ve decided to devote thousands of dollars promoting the $DEBEVIC token.

I’m calling $DEBEVIC the Peoples’ Coin of Focus.xyz, and many of my posts have exceeded 500 views, which is why higher than I ever got on Twitter/X, where it was probably bot views anyways.

Why $DEBEVIC is the Peoples’ Coin

I have committed to not making money on $DEBEVIC for the first six months. That’s right, I’m investing thousands of dollars and not taking a penny back. I believe in this project and want to do everything I can to make it succeed.

Some of the features of the $DEBEVIC Coin are:

  • The supply is capped at 200,952 tokens, and no more can be minted. 50% of the tokens go to me (this was the default setting), and the unlock doesn’t occur for 6 months. I have no plan on dumping it on the market; I set the token up with the default settings on Focus.xyz.

  • You can earn 25% in annual rewards with staking. Currently, 27% of the circulating supply is in long-term (1 year) staking.

  • There is a 10% transaction fee for buying and selling $DEBEVIC. For the first six months, 100% of these fees will be used to buy back and burn $DEBEVIC tokens. I bought and burned 2% of the supply in the first week. After six months, 50% of the transaction fees will be used indefinitely for buybacks and burns.

  • You don’t need to be a whale to invest. As I stated, I want $DEBEVIC to be the Peoples’ Coin. Most purchases are in the $5-$50 range, and transaction fees on Focus.xyz are a fraction of a penny.

  • I will spend thousands of dollars buying and distributing $DEBEVIC tokens and giving them away to Focus.xyz users who participate in my posts and contests. I want the entire Focus.xyz community to participate and get rewards, but I’m committed to rewarding $DEBEVIC holders at an increased rate.

  • You aren’t competing with insiders, snipers, a malicious platform, a greedy anonymous dev, or gigantic whales.

  • I am launching this project for fun. I am tired of watching my portfolio only go down and want a new challenge and diversion. Also, as stated earlier, I’ve lost thousands investing in other peoples’ shitty projects, and I may as well invest a few thousand in my own project.

  • There is (an outside) opportunity for magnificent growth. Today, Focus.xyz has 8,000 users, but should this scale up massively, a whole new pool of people can purchase $DEBEVIC tokens.

How You Can Participate

Here are the steps to get started if you want to join me and the 35 other $DEBEVIC holders on this journey.

  1. Set up a free account on Focus.xyz. This is an invite link; the only way to join Focus.xyz right now is via invite. Make sure to link your Twitter/X account. And if you have a blue check market, you get a bonus of $100 in $FOCUS tokens.

  2. Once your account is set up, follow me at https://focus.xyz/Debevic. Be sure to post a message and @scottdebevic in the post. If you use my referral link, I will reward you with a surprise (hint, it’s $DEBEVIC tokens).

If you want to purchase $DEBEVIC tokens:

  1. Buy $DeSo token with USDC, SOL, ETH, or BTC.

  2. Convert $DeSo token into $FOCUS on the DeSo dex, https://Openfund.com.

  3. Convert $FOCUS into $DEBEVIC at https://Openfund.com.

You Should Join Focus.xyz Even If You Don’t Want to Buy $DEBEVIC Coin

Focus.xyz is great because you aren’t competing with massive accounts that control attention. Your voice can be heard and you can actually interact with people. There aren’t any bots, and unlike Twitter/X, your account won’t be turned off because someone complains or the AI doesn’t like you.

Further, you can participate in an organic, decentralized Web3 social experiment that will grow rapidly. It’s been getting worked on for years and has some massive backers.

What I’m getting at is that by joining now, you are extremely early. In addition to receiving some of the free money I’m going to distribute, you can also earn by referring your friends or Twitter/X followers or starting your own Coin.

Key Takeaways

After getting burned by the snakes in the Solana meme ecosystem, I’ve decided to take my ball and play elsewhere. That elsewhere is Focus.xyz. I chose Focus.xyz because it’s light years better than Twitter/X and allows users to earn money using the platform instead of spending money to use the platform.

I launched my own token on Focus.xyz, called $DEBEVIC. The goal is not to rip off investors and to have a fun community that isn’t only focused on making money. I have committed thousands of dollars to promoting the token and will not earn anything for at least six months. People can invest in as little as $1 in $DEBEVIC and still (potentially) see an ROI because it only has a $20K market cap.

Most importantly, you won’t get rugged, you aren’t competing with insiders, and you should have fun participating and getting rewarded by following my account on Focus.xyz. Additionally, you will interact with other web3 and crypto advocates who aren’t motivated by money grabs or dumping on their followers.

If you want to join the experiment and see where this goes, please use my referral link: Focus.xyz. Then, refer your friends. Don’t forget to tag me in a post so you can get your reward.

I own DESO, FOCUS, OPENFUND, and DEBEVIC . This information should not be taken as investment advice. I haven’t been paid to write this article. If you use my referral link, I get compensation based on your trading and fee revenue. Digital assets like crypto and NFTs involve risk, so you should always perform due diligence before investing.
